It seems to be the same old resource hungry version with no improvement in UI as far as Linux is concerned, toolbars and menu Items are still bugy and ugly.

Lotus Symphony should be mainly targeted to Linux users as there are no good office suites available in Linux. Please make Symphony less buggy to use on Linux.

    Regards,

    Amir Mustafa

It states there is support for Smartsuite, however, when I try to open Lotus 123 (Smartsuite) file I get a message that this file type is not supported. Go figure...
  • Alf said on Jan 24, 2012 2:05 PM:

Yes andrew, they dropped support for SmartSuite in version 3. Install Symphony 1.x on an USB and start it from there to convert your SmartSuite documents (in our company we have thousands of those)

What version of Quickr Connector works with this. Tried updating my 8.5.1 HF10 and not seeing any Places option within Symphony. I'll be disappointed if this isn't available yet.

Does the Symphony 3.0.1 come with an improved spread sheet? Filtering multi figures is not possible in spread sheets.

I notice that version 3.0.1 still doesn't have the capability of Rel 1.3 to open Lotus SmartSuite files. Can anyone say if / when this is coming?

IBM implied some time ago it would be in a update after 3.0 was released, but no sign yet - it's simply listed asa known issue. Perhaps someone can tell us if / when ....

Will Symphony be loadable onto a NETBOOK with a screen resolution limited to 1024 X 600?

Most modern Office suites want 1024 X 7068.

The newest 3.0.1 is buggy - keeps freezing, and I have to kill it. Sometimes it even causes my whole Linux environment to freeze, and I have to do clt-alt-back to do a forced restart.
