We've been reading everything and wanted to let you know two things:

1. Yes, we will deliver a version for Mac. We'll provide details as we get a bit closer, but are targeting beta in the first half of next year.

2. We have Beta 2 in the works, and we'll share the features shortly. We are using the feedback from the forums to prioritize what we can deliver in future betas. We'll enhance the forums shortly so that you can vote on where we should focus.

Hopefully there will be a (native?) Version for MAC OS X (10.4.x)?!

I'm looking for a native 10.5 intel version (or 10.4.x-10.5.x, don't want to leave the tiger guys out). Also, it would be extremely important to have feature parity with any Windows version.

OSX Leopard version is waited here.

It would be helpful if there were some official announcement stating a realistic timeline for an OS X native implementation, including what platforms it will run on.

When does a native MAC OS X version of Symphny arrive? Does it supports VoiceOver?

On the MAC OS X platform are only a few text processing systems that are compatible with VoiceOver (Screen Reader). Screen Reading is a comfort feature AND a "must" for people with disabilities.

A native version (Cocoa) is a real need.

Also, a localization in French ... end open doc compatibility...

    Thx.

    … still waitin'…

I really want to use and/or convert all my "old" *.lwp-philes...

Well, at least while we are waiting for the Symphony Beta for Mac, an alternative has arrived - OpenOffice 3.0 beta - Mac (intel) native and fairly quick. I'll be using that while we wait for Symphony.

I'm hoping that Symphony will be Even Better, not just that it will happen at all.

    Another person "still waiting"...

I double every comment/wish abt. a Mac OS Version. I really hope the release will be worth the waiting :).

Talking of feature parity: Absolutely! While poor Mac BU at MS is obviously forced to forge Office:mac with strange behaviour (not windows nor mac), strange user interface (not windows nor mac either) and missing features ("you want 'proper' office? Go windows or go to hell") I am really looking forward to something that has the same tools and behaviour (except really OS-Specific things like shell/open/save dialogues) on at least the three major platforms: Win, OSX, Linux.

So another big please with sugar on top :)

The "first half of next year" has come and gone. Any new word on when we can expect a Mac version? Is there stille hope? If so, will it run on 10.4 Tiger, or only 10.5 Leopard and later?
