Sneak Peak From The Lab On Top Priority Items For The Next Lotus Symphony Beta Release

We've received very valuable community feedback about performance and installation issues with the current Beta release of Symphony. In response to this, the lab has been focusing on these issues for beta 2 (to be honest we started even before Beta 1 was posted !). In some early testing of the Beta 2 code we are seeing dramatic improvements in the areas of start up, loading .ppt presentations and improved response times when opening and saving documents in other formats. We'll post more data as we get closer to Beta 2 availability.

The amazing number of users has enabled feedback on many installation scenarios where we need to improve - we are also working on that, with most of the real improvement expected in Beta 3.

Lastly, we are working to accelerate our plans to support more languages. No promises, but we hope to be able deliver a first set of language packs before the end of the year.
