Profile image for Xiao He Drawing objects are a common feature across all three Symphony editors. We have plans to improve it at present, therefore, we’d like to hear from you regarding the following issues. (To check out what’s currently provided, just right click on the toolbars, then select “Toolbar > Drawing”)

1. Have you ever used drawing objects? In which editor?

2. Which objects do you use the most?

3. Which objects do you use the least?

4. Do we provide enough options? If not, please list the other drawing objects you'd like and why.

5. What’s your appraisal of the current drawing categories?

6. Of the schemes shown in figure 1, which one is your preferred style? And your reasons?

1.- Yes Ms.word (sucks) and wordperfect xe3 (also sucks), the best drawing system is the microsoft studio design 2. Also would be fine that Lotus simphony accepts, .svg, .crdoc and other vector dile format.

2.- Vectors, plane, cilindre. I use in order to draw mecanic scheme.

3.- Stars, clouds, hearts and not poligon objects.

4.- A cilindre, cube with the center line, is not offered.

    5.-

    6.- A

    1. I've used microsoft word's ones.

    2. I probably use the rounded square most, and occasionally some of the explosions.

    3. I've never used most of the shapes.

    4. Plenty

    5. They're good

    6. A, since not everything is shown at once it is easier to find the shape you are looking for. The icons/categories would have to be logical though.

Clouds would be good for visual grouping of objects

1- I use drawing objects very often in all editors especially in presentetation to create my own objects.

    2- Basics and arrows

    3- I don't use paranthesis,

    4-You provide enough options,

    5- They are good,

6- "A" is fine for it's simple and intuitive.

    1. excel

    2. box, rounded box, elipse

6 B - it saves space on toolbar

    B. it is more explicit ( text headers tell you "on clear" what about ) and visual information is gradually exposed on this route **Shapes**->kind of shapes->my selected shape.

    A. is OK but 80% of normal "office peoples" will prefer B because is more usable, also B option will save some space on toolbar. On toolbar - not every people will know from first second that we see there categories - on the A example. Finally, A will take more brain cycles.

    part 2 :

    in case of A

First, user will process that there are shapes categories - then the next question will be - where I will got my conic shape ? - then the brain will search for similar experiences and will trow that the most desirable category will be the third (from left to right) -> [rectangle mean regular shapes, arrow mean arrows ans other known symbols so that the irregular shape can mask the "extra stuff" where I can find a conical shape].

On case of B no much brain cycles -> 1'st think -> there are shapes! Second step -> select the shape.

this is the thinking route for the average peoples against their computers.

Someone say here A is intuitive ...hmm, average "office" user (80% from "office" users ) like to practice their intuition at home, in holly-days or in places without stress - at work they will prefer to choose between Boolean alternatives ( 1 or 0 ) clear and simple - because at work generally is a bigger pressure and stress / poor head.

    well, that is.

Good Luck and no less ;)
