I like Lotus Symphony and I understand the concept that these three videos are trying to get out... but that acting was really cheesy. I almost wish that I didn't take my time to watch all three of those videos because I don't want to think any less of the product because of such cheesy acting. So I will just pretend that I didn't watch them at all.

    Make some better ones !

There's a sense in which the advertising budget for a product needs to be related to the expected revenue from the product; and Symphony is free. So the budget for big-name actors and actresses, rehearsals, post-production, etc. is quite limited. Not zero, but limited.

I expect the advertising budget for IBM Lotus Notes (which includes Symphony, much as a cellphone contract includes a handset) is larger.

But it looks as if Symphony is here to stay. Come what may, the cat will not go back into the bag.

    Be free. Work Smart.

The ads are BIT corny... :P

    Great product, though!

Symphony.......The second I even brought up the topic I heard rumors of employees leaving........If I want to segment my population I've now got to tell my low end employee's they aren't worth a license....cripes.....and it runs dog slow. I expect better from IBM...and quite using the "free" excuse. If you're leveraging Symphony to reduce Microsoft's deploy base it better be a product well worth it.

Hmmm i think beside OpenOffice.org this is another great productivity suite. Its good that IBM made it free of charge - however only one thing that might be bothering is too complicated registration. Users would prefer much more if the Symphony Download would be truly "one click away" :)

Gee. We'll see. Thanks for your effort. Later, Herb
