| | As part of the worldwide IBM Centers for Advanced Studies, the Ottawa Lab is equipped to provide academics with access to IBM research areas, technical staff and other resources, with the goal of solving research problems of the utmost importance to IBM's customers.

The Ottawa Lab's research themes include the Eclipse platform, model-driven development, virtual machines, class libraries, embedded technology and electronic records management, as well as software engineering best practices, tools and services.
The IBM Ottawa Centre for Advanced Studies works closely with academic institutions, as well as corporate, government, and IBM research groups on various projects that relate to these themes.
We are continually interested in initiating long-term projects in collaboration with other members of the research community, with an emphasis on supporting graduate students. The expected results of these projects will vary from research publications to prototypes and new directions for IBM products.
