Scania IT is the information technology division of the Scania group, which specializes in manufacturing trucks, buses and engines for its customers. Headquartered in the Swedish city of Södertälje, the Scania group has operations in more than 100 countries, and employs a total of 42,000 people.

Business need
Scania wanted to enable better communication between vehicle drivers and fleet owners to improve safety and reduce costs – sharpening the automotive group’s ability to attract new business.

Scania IT launched an IoT platform to support the use of an application that enables drivers to communicate with fleet owners on the go and warn each other about hazards on the road.

New offerings help customers work safely and efficiently. Insights into truck usage enable improved design for fleet services, and enable fleet owners to save money.
