Harness the power of Workload Manager by taking courses and workshops that will teach you the fundamentals, help you convert to goal mode, and fine-tune your system for optimal performance.

The following are available:

  • z/OS Workload Based Performance Management
    Do you need to know how to establish a practical performance management program for your z/OS system? This 4.5-day course is designed for new performance analysts to learn to work with the Workload Manager (WLM) in goal mode. Learn concepts of the WLM and performance management in the z/OS system using the WLM. Discuss both monoplex and sysplex environments.
    Note this course assumes that you are new to z/OS performance management.
     
  • Workload and Performance Management for New Workloads on z/OS
    This one-day workshop will acquaint you with Workload Manager for z/OS, discuss how to set up policies based on business goals, and show you how to classify and manage new and existing workloads.
     
  • Advanced z/OS Performance: WLM, Sysplex and UNIX Services
    In this 3.5-day course you will examine the performance management and monitoring components of the Parallel Sysplex, USS, and WLM environment, using extensive Resource Management Facility (RMF) reports and console displays to understand what is happening in the system. Based on this foundation, analyze case studies involving the HTTP Server in detail, giving you a complete picture of z/OS e-business application performance. Finish with an introduction to performance and tuning with WebSphere Version 5 for z/OS.
     
  • z/OS WLM Goal Mode Migration
    This 3-day course introduces you to the z/OS Workload Manager and the new RMF reports.
