How to get the package |
There are three ways to get a package:
- Through your browser
- Anonymous ftp
- If all else fails,
- For tools packages, send a note to Steve Stiert (stiert@us.ibm.com) letting him know what problems you had and he'll be happy to email the package to you.
- For PDF files (such as presentations), send a note to Henry Gorbsky (gorbsky@us.ibm.com) letting him know what problems you had and he'll be happy to email the file to you.
We also have some general information on handling a tools package after it has been downloaded.
Downloading through your browser
In most cases, a package can be downloaded simply by clicking on the package name. If you are prompted whether to "open" or "save" the file, select "save".
Should you have problems downloading a package by clicking on the link, most browsers provide an option that allow you to specifically download the link. Following are the procedures for Netscape and Internet Explorer. (This has not been rigidly tested on all versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer. If you know of variations, or the process for other browsers, please send me a note: Steve Stiert, stiert@us.ibm.com)
Netscape
- Right-click on the package name link. A pop-up menu should appear.
- Select "Save link as..."
Internet Explorer
- Right-click on the package name link. A pop-up menu should appear.
- Select "Save target as..."
