You can download the tools directly from this page using a browser program such as Mozilla® Firefox® or Microsoft® Internet Explorer®. If you click on one of the download links below, the browser program prompts you about what to do with the file that you want to download.
With Mozilla Firefox you will see a prompt like this:
Click on the OK button and either the file will be saved in your default downloads folder, or a dialog box will appear asking you to specify the location where you want to store the downloaded file.
With Microsoft Internet Explorer you will see a File Download - Security Warning window like this:
Click on the Save button and a Save As dialog box will appear. Specify the location where you want to store the downloaded file.
If the download fails: native FTP
If you have trouble downloading the files listed below with a browser, you can do a native logon to the server via FTP:
- Using an FTP program:
- ftp to "ftp.software.ibm.com"
- Log on as "anonymous"
- Enter your e-mail address for the password, for example, "userid@provider.com".
- Change to the RMF directory using the "cd" command:
cd eserver/zseries/zos/rmf
- File "index.txt" describes the individual files that are available.
- Use the "binary" or "ascii" command to set the download option for the file.
- Use the "get" or "mget" command to retrieve the files. Remember that file names are case sensitive.
- Use "quit" to quit.
- Using a Web browser:
- Open URL "ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/eserver/zseries/zos/rmf/"
- Log on as "anonymous". This may be done automatically by your browser.
- Enter your e-mail address for the password, for example, "userid@provider.com". This may be done automatically by your browser.
- File "index.txt" describes the individual files that are available.
- Click on the file you want. With some browsers you may have to select a "save to disk mode" function first.
Installation
All tools are shipped as InstallShield executable files. After downloading the file double click on its icon in the Windows File Manager or Explorer window and the interactive installation will start.

Abstract: The RMF Spreadsheet Reporter serves as a front-end to the RMF postprocessor on your z/OS system. With its graphics capabilities, RMF Spreadsheet Reporter allows you to analyze z/OS performance data through powerful graphical charts — right from your workstation.
The new interface: resource oriented
Version 5 is a major revision of the RMF Spreadsheet Reporter, which was originally introduced in 1997. In Version 5, the task flow of the previous versions is replaced by an intuitive resource-oriented interface.
With the new version, you can create graphical charts from raw SMF data in one single step. The spreadsheet macros provided by RMF can be directly started from the Spreadsheet Reporter main window without detouring.
File: To download the latest version 5.2.5 for Windows 2000, Windows
XP and Windows Vista, select rmfsrv5.exe
(49 MB). This version also supports the changes to daylight saving time (DST)
for 2007 in the U.S. and Canada. Currently Excel 2007 is not supported by the
Spreadsheet Reporter.
Online help is available for all dialogs by pressing F1 or the Help button on the dialog.
A presentation is also available which gives an overview of the Spreadsheet Reporter (PDF, 1.5MB, 28 July 2004).
An overview of the change history since the introduction of Version 4 is available.
