Welcome to System z Platform Test, also known as Integration Test.
Our organization consists of various teams, including:
New! Recently we released an updated
version of our Parallel Sysplex recovery book: z/OS System z Parallel Sysplex Recovery
(GA22-7286-01), located in our Test Report Library.
This edition is an update of our previous edition, OS/390 Parallel Sysplex
Recovery (GA22-7286-00). In it, we describe:
- How to be prepared for potential problems in a Parallel Sysplex
- What the indicators are to let you know there's a problem
- What actions to take to recover.
z/OS Platform Evaluation Test (zPET) is the software testing team for all
seasons—and for all releases of z/OS!
We are a team of z/OS testers and system programmers who run a
Parallel Sysplex
on which we perform the final verification of a
z/OS
release before it becomes generally available to customers.
As we do our testing, we gather our experiences, hints, tips, and
recommendations and we publish them as the System z Platform Test Report
for z/OS and Linux Virtual Servers, formerly known as the
z/OS Parallel Sysplex Test Report. You can find our test reports in our
Test Report Library.
We publish a new test report with each new release of z/OS and provide
a refreshed edition in between z/OS releases.
We also bring you late-breaking news in the form of our
latest tips and experiences.
You can also use the links listed on the left to learn more about
our mission and
our team, or to view or download some of our
sample configuration files.
We also have a Linux Virtual Server team whose primary responsibility is to emulate
leading-edge customer environments, workloads, and activities. This includes running Linux
native on System z and as a z/VM guest in a heterogeneous Linux server environment. More
information on Linux for System z can be found in our Test Report Library.
Our WebSphere Integration
Test (WIT) team's mission
is to combine applications and products running WebSphere
for z/OS solutions emulating a customer environment above and beyond
current testing capabilities for WebSphere only or DB2 only test teams.
The WIT team's information can be found in our Test Report Library.
Integration test is just one phase of the testing that IBM performs
on the z/OS operating system. For information about the complete IBM test
strategy for z/OS, see the IBM Systems Journal article,
Testing
z/OS: The premier operating system for IBM's System z server.
After general availability (GA), testing of z/OS continues through Consolidated Service Test (CST),
where z/OS service along with key subsystems and tools service continues
to be tested together. CST recommends service on a quarterly and monthly
basis with published results. For more information, see the
CST Web site.
