  Checking the Prerequisites
Review the prerequisites for running XML Toolkit for z/OS and make sure that they are in effect at your installation.

  Reviewing Known Problems
You can search RETAIN, IBM's database for reporting and tracking problems to see Authorized Program Analysis Reports (APARs) and Programming Temporary Fixes (PTFs).

Note: If you are installing the Toolkit via Serverpac, the Toolkit HFS will be mounted at the /usr/lpp/ixm directory. To setup a seperate HFS to be used for service, you will have to make a copy of the Toolkit HFS and then create a "service" directory. Use /xxxxxxxx/usr/lpp/ixm (where xxxxxxxx is the service directory name) as the mount point for the copy of the HFS you want to apply the maintenance to.

For additional information on installing service into the HFS, refer to z/OS Unix System Services Planning Guide, Chapter 17, Installing service into the HFS

The IBM service process includes information about the service team, severity definitions, service terms and how to report a problem to IBM.
