SA z/OS – TWS interface enhancements

The SA z/OS – TWS interface has been enhanced to issue free-format SA z/OS or NetView commands from the TWS application description panel.

This gives you the ability to manipulate application groups or monitoring resources in the same way as for subsystems, providing out-of-box integration with no installation setup being required. It allows for the definition of automation requests in TWS without the need for the SA z/OS policy database to be updated.

Major improvements include:

  • The OPCAQRY command has been enhanced to show details about the commands that have been received via the new command request interface.
  • New options for the batch command interface have been introduced, providing more flexibility when issuing SA z/OS commands via the command interface.
  • SA z/OS has been enhanced to support multiple TWS controllers running on the same LPAR.
  • The INGMOVE command has been enhanced to be invoked in linemode.
  • The INGVTAM command has been enhanced to support model definitions.

This new function is introduced via  APAR OA14066.
