Note: IBM Developer Kit for OS/390, Java 2 Technology Edition
is now out of service as of September 30, 2007.
The SDK 1.3.1 product information will move to archive by year end.
The following chart describes:
- Java 2 Technology Edition PTF numbers and their build dates
- corresponding SUN SDK levels
- where the service can be obtained (Web or order the tape from IBM)
- whether the SDK level is currently supported
- the related APARs and updated classes
We recommend that you have the latest service level to take advantage
of improved service, performance, and stability.
All service is cumulative, so the latest PTF includes
all previous service.
Note:
Since the product is serviced with a full-product replace, the
latest non-SMP/E code obtainable
from the Web contains all previous fixes
and is the only code that needs to be installed.
If installing the SMP/E
version of a PTF, the SMP/E base must be installed first.
Java on OS/390 is not a traditional OS/390 product,
although the service procedure is similar to other OS/390 products.
We thought that some words to
clarify the service procedure
might be helpful.
