PTF UQ71871 ++HOLD information

If you are a WebSphere Application Server (WAS) SDK user upgrading from a SDK level prior to the July 2001 Service Refresh PTF UQ56153 (PQ50780), you should refer to information APAR II12985 before installing PTF UQ71871.

The default dump has changed in the Java SDK. A transaction dump (TDUMP) is now produced in favor of a CEEDUMP. This TDUMP is larger than a CEEDUMP but smaller than an SVCDUMP. The purpose of the TDUMP is to better aid problem diagnosis first time around. Refer to information APAR II13292 for further information and details on how to disable this feature

Customers installing on OS/390 or z/OS Version 1, Release 1 will see several msgFSUMF079 warning messages for some files in the demo directory. These messages can safely be ignored. The messages are generated because an expanded pax command on z/OS Version 1, Release 2 was used to create the PTF file.
