Incorrect softcopy index on z/OS DVD Collection
- On the March 2001 z/OS DVD Collection (SK3T-4271-00), the BookManager versions of the softcopy collection index are incomplete and backlevel. These files are SCINDEX.BOO and EZ2ZDB11.BOO. Due to a formatting error, the files are missing information about the specific content of the collection and they state that the IBM Library Readers are shipped on the collection. All other formats of the softcopy collection index are correct (SCINDEX.HTM, PDF, and TXT). We will correct this problem on the June 2001 edition.

IBM Softcopy Reader issues error message "Did not find directory name" and does not read book file.
- If you installed the IBM Softcopy Reader from a March 2001 or earlier collection, and defined only directories on your CD-ROM drive to the Softcopy Reader, you might not be able to read some book files, such as book files on an Internet site, if you don't have a disc in the CD-ROM drive. When the Softcopy Reader is unable to find any of the user-defined directories, it issues the error message "Did not find directory name", where name is the name of a user-defined directory, and does not read the book file. We are planning to provide a corrected copy of the Softcopy Reader in the June collections. Meanwhile, you can avoid this error by defining a directory on your hard drive to the Softcopy Reader. For example, you might define c:\temp to the Softcopy Reader if that identifies a directory on your hard drive. The directory does not have to include any book files or shelves, it just has to exist. To define a directory to the Softcopy Reader, bring up the BookShelf Organizer, then select "Edit", then "User Defined Directories". If you get the "Did not find directory name" message when you try to bring up the BookShelf Organizer, and the directory it names is on your CD-ROM drive, put a disc that contains the missing directory in the drive, and try again.

Cross-book linking for older books
- Cross-book links might not work from old, unchanged books to more recent books. Many bookshelves contain a mix of recent softcopy books and some older softcopy books. Most old softcopy books containing cross-book links are not updated to point to more recent editions of the books they link to. As a result, the links work only for the specific back-level editions that the links point to. When you open one of these old softcopy books from a bookshelf that does not contain the back-level editions the links point to, the links to these back-level books fail.
