Below you will find details of the APARs and PTFs, and the coexistence FMID that are available for z/OS msys for Setup. It is strongly recommended that for z/OS V1R1, R2 and R3 you install the COEX FMID and for z/OS V1R4 the SPE (UA90013,UA90015, UA03034). UA90013 and UA90015 will be superseeded by future msys framework PTFs and contain all the available APAR fixes through June 2003. For R4 customers, the following additional PTF is recommended: UA07289.
All DOC APARs that were closed by June 2003 are included in the msys for Setup Users and Installation Guides (available since June 2003, see our Library).

In addition to the msys for Setup code in V1.4, a Web deliverable containing the msys for Setup coexistence code became available on the same general availability date as that of z/OS V1.4. The coexistence code can be installed on z/OS V1.1, V1.2 or V1.3 and z/OS.e V1.3, and provides the same msys for Setup V1.4 framework functionality as delivered in z/OS V1.4. The installation of the Web deliverable is required if multiple z/OS releases, including at least one system with z/OS V1.4 or higher, are to be managed using a single management directory.
Note: If you have z/OS V1.1, V1.2 or V1.3, it is strongly recommended that you use the coexistence FMID. The APARs listed below should only be used if you choose not to use the coexistence FMID.
The Web deliverable is provided as an SMP/E installable FMID and will be serviced via PTFs.
You can obtain this msys for Setup coexistence code and more information on the z/OS downloads page.

Lufthansa put it this way:
"Lufthansa Systems participated in the msys for Setup R1 beta and did a simulated Parallel Sysplex setup based on configuration data stored in an LDAP server using a DB2 backend. Lufthansa Systems' U-D Schmidt is impressed by the advanced technology and how easy the sysplex setup was with msys. As a result, Lufthansa Systems wants to use msys to set up a sysplex and to evaluate msys usage to configure ISPF and TCP/IP as soon as it is available with z/OS V1R2."
