| TCP/IP Services |
Version 1.4 of msys for Setup introduces the following enhancements to TCP/IP functionality:
- The TCP/IP plug-in provides customization of the TN3270 Server.
- End-user definition of port reservation and port sharing is now supported.
- The Communications Server plug-in is enabled for National Language Support, with translation to Japanese provided.

| UNIX System Services |
Use msys for Setup to set limits on your UNIX system resources (such as the maximum number of user IDs that can be concurrent at one time and the maximum number of processes that the system will run at one time) as well as customize existing or new file systems. These settings will be stored in the z/OS UNIX parmlib member BPXPRMxx. When using this UNIX System Services exploitation of the msys for Setup element, the system will also do self-discovery and prime with the values that your system already has. You will also then be able to use msys for Setup property sheets to do any on-going customization of BPXPRMxx. |

| Language Environment |
Use msys for Setup to configure the default system-wide run-time options for Language Environment. msys for Setup builds the necessary configuration files, through an easy-to-use dialog and accompanying help text, which will then be put into production by the system programmer. In addition, msys for Setup will be used to create the region-wide run-time options for both CICS and IMS regions. Since the customization for these regions will now be done in a central location, keeping track of the region-wide options will be easier. |

| Parallel Sysplex |
Parallel Sysplex extends its R1 exploitation. You can now also use msys for Setup to set up the system logger, which covers the logger requirements for OPERLOG and for LOGREC. It also allows you to define the options for Enhanced Catalog Sharing.
In addition, you can set up a Base Sysplex environment using msys for Setup. It has all functions of the Parallel Sysplex support relevant for Base Sysplex. This includes the support for migrating from a Base Sysplex to a Parallel Sysplex.

| TCP/IP Services |
TCP/IP's msys for Setup initial offering is intended to allow for the setup of basic TCP/IP systems. This includes support for all network devices, routing selections of OSPF, RIP, or use of default routers and static routes.
After customization, msys for Setup creates the corresponding TCP/IP data sets for you, for example, tcp.data, profile.tcp, and omproute. If you are new to TCP/IP, the new easy-to-use configuration dialogs will be especially helpful to you.

| Parallel Sysplex |
msys for Setup in z/OS V1R1 allows you to set up a Parallel Sysplex resource sharing environment, including support for the Intelligent Resource Director, XCF signalling and Global Resource Serialization Star. |
