Test levels
|
The IBM Server Team tests servers using two different models: standard
testing and comprehensive testing.
Standard testing
Standard: A single instance of the hardware or software is
installed in the system using normal installation methods. Related software,
such as device drivers, are tested for their ability to load, initialize
and bind reliably. A limited test is executed to demonstrate compatibility
and data integrity (where applicable).
Comprehensive testing
Comprehensive: Is a superset of "Standard". Where applicable,
multiple instances (up to 3 when possible) are installed demonstrating
scalability and configuration versatility; as well as showing that related
software, such as device drivers, will load, initialize and bind reliably
to multiple instances concurrently. Finally, a stress test, that tests
for data integrity, of significant duration is executed on the multiple
instance configuration.
