Have you ever found yourself at a loss when you need to know
if a particular network cards runs on your IBM Server? Do you spend hours hunting
for the answer, without a good idea of where to start looking?
If you do, then you'll be glad to know that help is here
- in the ServerProven Program.
Originally announced on June 18, 1996, the IBM ServerProven
Program enhances the position of IBM System x, BladeCenter and xSeries
servers as one of the most open server systems on the market today . The program
establishes a relationship between IBM and leading vendors of options and applications
often selected for installation into IBM System x, BladeCenter and
xSeries servers.
The program is designed to:
- Test leading vendors' products for compatibility with IBM System x, BladeCenter and xSeries servers
- Improve ease of installation
- Help reduce total cost-of-ownership
IBM ServerProven Program participants agree to work closely
with IBM engineers during product test cycles and over product life
cycles. This means the IBM ServerProven Program is a commitment to resolve
problems before they get to you.
ServerProven participants, in conjunction with IBM, test
a set of solution building blocks - specific devices and applications - in
one or more operating system environments. This allows customers to build a
complete server solution. Compatibility testing by IBM and its program participants
can help reduce cost-of-ownership by reducing installation and setup
time.
The compatibility information provided by IBM should be
used as a guide only, since hardware and software levels and releases may
vary, and numerous hardware and software combinations are possible. IBM makes
no representation or guarantee regarding the compatibility of specific hardware
or software products. Unless otherwise specified, warranty, service and support
for non-IBM products are provided directly to you by the product manufacturer,
supplier, or publisher of the product. IBM makes no representations or warranties
regarding non-IBM products.
IBM makes no representations or warranty regarding third-party
products or services, including those designated as ServerProven or ClusterProven.
Support for these third-party (non-IBM) products is provided by non-IBM
Manufacturers.
