Benefits of the Remote Development Program (fee-based) for the IBM System z
The program provides access to Linux running on the IBM System z running as a guest of z/VM with several different levels of resources that are available for a nominal fee. Membership in PartnerWorld is required to use this service.
Applicants will receive a user ID on a Linux for System z and the choice of Red Hat or SUSE Linux distributions. This enables access to Linux for the IBM System z for a longer term than the no-charge "Linux Test Drive" program.
Program highlights:
- You may request a choice of either a Red Hat or SUSE Linux for System z distribution
- You receive 10 GB disk space configured at one mount point (/opt)
- Remote Access via SSH client and SCP (secure copy)
- Additional disk storage and system resources are available at additional costs beyond the base program fee as defined in the enrollment packages below
Enrollment procedure:
To sign up for one of the Fee Based Linux for the IBM System z Remote Development Programs, please:
- Complete the online questionnaire
- Please complete the appropriate System z Remote Development Program enrollment package with the registration form that fits your needs and return the enrollment package materials to IBM.
- After completing the forms (Exhibits, Supplements. and/or Addons, as required), fax your completed Enrollment Package materials to the USA phone number 1-972-246-3460.
After your completed documentation is received by IBM you will receive a notification and further information on the status of your request.
Note:
System resources are limited. Therefore, there are a limited number of engagements for each offering. Each application will be processed and approved on a first come, first served basis with the available system resources at that time.
Technical support for configuring, testing and porting is available to assist with Linux for the IBM System z development projects.
