IBM porting services
The following resources and services are available to help you evaluate the portability of your application, what it will take to port, and how to proceed in the right direction.
- PartnerWorld Porting Team: The porting team provides web resources for everyone and consulting services for PartnerWorld members.
- API Analysis: The API analysis tool can be used to measure the portability of your application to iSeries. The tool has a front-end and a back-end. You can download the front-end and send in the output. The porting team will run the back-end and send you a report showing the level of API support available for your application on iSeries.
- Our main website can answer many basic questions.

- In-depth technical consulting is provided by the porting team for PartnerWorld members as needed.
- IBM Porting Centers: We invite PartnerWorld members to visit IBM, here in Rochester, MN (USA). Bring along a representative sample of code from your application and spend 2-3 days in the Center, which is equipped with UNIX, iSeries, and PC hardware and software and is staffed by UNIX, PC, and iSeries technical consultants. For your convenience, there are IBM Innovation Centers for Business. Contact the center nearest to your location for further details (schedule, fees, etc.).
- Custom Technology Center: The CTC has developed custom solutions around the world and has been used to develop customized solutions from communications handling programs to entire applications. The CTC can also provide consulting services for application design, tuning, and modernization.
- Third-party consultants: And last but not least, we can help you by referring you to Tools and Service Providers who provide porting services and tools which suit your needs.
