Release 3.24 for CCA

Release 3.24 is available for download by all customers who use the IBM 4764 Model 001 in an IBM System x™ server (IBM ServerProven™ model only).

Release 3.24 is a full standalone package.

IBM offers a Common Cryptographic Architecture (CCA) Support Program that is licensed internal code for the PCI-X Cryptographic Coprocessor. It provides device drivers, utilities and access method support, in addition to providing support for:

  • Strong DES key management with extensive key separation
  • Triple and single DES data encryption
  • Message authentication (MAC) and financial PIN processing
  • RSA operations up to 2048 bits for key generation and digital signature operations
  • Programmable - Customer / User Defined Functions (UDX)
  • Access controls to manage definable roles

CCA for the IBM PCI-X Cryptographic Coprocessor is an enhanced version of the CCA Support Program shipped with the IBM PCI Cryptographic Coprocessor. It provides the following enhancements over the CCA API of the IBM PCI Cryptographic Coprocessor:
  • The Prohibit_Export and Key_Test verbs have been extended to operate on external key tokens as well as internal tokens
  • The PKA_Encrypt verb now offers a ZERO-PAD option, to encrypt data without adding any formatting.
  • The CVV_Generate and CVV_Verify verbs have been enhanced to support 19 digit PAN values
  • Improved performance - up to 10 times faster on some operations
  • Improved reliability, with hardware and software redundancy and real-time error checking
