IBM eServer pSeries and IBM RS/6000 Servers Supporting PCI Cryptographic Coprocessor

The features listed below, although still supported, have been withdrawn from marketing by IBM.

On the listed IBM e-server pSeries server systems you previously could order:

  • Feature code #4963 that provides an IBM PCI Cryptographic Coprocessor similar to the IBM 4758 Model 002 and certified at level 4 under the USA FIPS PUB 140-1 standard.
  • Feature code #4958 provided an IBM PCI Cryptographic Coprocessor similar to the IBM 4758 Model 023 and certified at level 3 under the USA FIPS PUB 140-1 standard.
  • Previously available RPQs 8A1162 on non-SP servers and 8P2429 on SP servers are withdrawn.

Depending on the server and PCI slot limitations, one or more Coprocessors can be installed. The Coprocessor(s) must be installed prior to installing the software.
