Automating security compliance management and remediation: IBM has joined the Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC) program and is integrating Tivoli Security Compliance Manager with Cisco NAC-enabled infrastructure to analyze a vast array of endpoint system parameters and signal the network to enforce the correct admission decision based on compliance to security policy. The Cisco NAC program fosters enhanced security within the network by allowing customers to examine endpoint security status and automatically permit or deny endpoint access to critical network and system resources based on customers' pre-defined corporate IT security policies. This will extend businesses capability to examine system and application credentials, and provide more effective remediation strategies for non-compliant endpoints.
Integrated user provisioning
New integration between Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) and IBM Tivoli Identity Manager software can help customers reduce the costs of managing a large number of employee, business partner and customer identities, across a broad array of networked business applications. This can reduce common security risks, such as invalid user accounts that plague an estimated 60 percent of large organizations and can lead to identity theft or intellectual capital theft. The new integration can also decrease the time it takes to enable new employees to be productive with full access to all the appropriate applications and network infrastructure.
Security services
IBM Global Services will provide additional services to help assess a customer's combined IBM and Cisco IT infrastructure; design and implement integrated security solutions to protect critical infrastructure; and provide the skills to manage a customer's security operations, and administer or outsource security controls, if requested.
