The Terminal Services product provides the software support that allows existing IBM 4690 point-of-sale (POS) terminal applications to run on the Windows NT® 4.0 operating system. Terminal Services was developed to meet the requirements of customers who have a significant investment in IBM 4690/4680 hardware and software and who desire a migration path for upgrading to an open systems platform.

• Supports the IBM 4684, 4693, 4694 and SurePOS™ 700 Series systems
• Supports a wide variety of IBM peripherals including IBM SureMark™ Printers
• Supports IBM General Sales, Supermarket and Chain Store Applications
• Attaches to 4690 controllers via Ethernet, Token-Ring or IBM Store Loop
• Compatible with the IBM 4690 Controller Services Feature for Windows NT
• Supports only disk-based workstations
• POS peripheral replacement is supported
