IBM AnyPlace Checkout™ combines the AnyPlace Kiosk form factor with IBM's self checkout software in an ultra-compact self checkout footprint. This cashless self checkout option leverages the convenience of self checkout in a wide variety of settings and can be implemented in store departments and also small store formats with limited space.

Now more than ever, consumers expect the convenience of self service. The growing preference for self checkout reflects this trend, but until now, it has been difficult for retailers with limited space to implement self checkout. It's also been nearly impossible to extend self checkout beyond the front end of larger stores into self-contained areas such as floral or prepared food departments.
