Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions Announces Closing of Third Phase of Countries and Regions as Part of Acquisition of IBM™s Retail Store Solutions Business
- Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions Extends To 26 Additional Countries And Regions
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC - 03 December 2012: Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Inc. headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, on December 1 announced the closing of the next phase of countries and regions as part of the transaction in which Toshiba Tec will acquire IBM™s Retail Store Solutions (RSS) business. The agreement was announced on April 17, 2012 and as of today, Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions now has operations in 41 countries and regions. The joining of the former IBM Retail Store Solutions (now Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions) with Toshiba TEC has formed the world's leading integrated in-store solutions company, offering products and solutions that provide new value to customers.
We are pleased that nearly 250 IBM employees from IBM Retail Store Solutions are joining local subsidiaries in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Brazil and Peru under the holding company.
