| How do I interpret the child supplier names? | |
Child supplier names are made up of 4 possible components:
Supplier Name_Loc_Type_Mfgr Child Supplier Name:
- Parent Supplier Name is the company name found in the Supply Portal
- Location is the location from which the data comes (ALL is a valid location)
- Type: C is a commodity supplier that provides parts to IBM, M is a Boxline manufacturer, 2 is a tier 2 supplier that provides parts to a non-IBM Boxline mfr.
- Manufacturer Child Supplier Name: If the child name is type = tier 2, then the manufacturer that uses the part is specified.
Example of a child supplier name: Test Company_Fishkill_2_ZZZ Inc_Woodbury_M translates to a tier 2 company called Test Company, located in Fishkill is used by a non-IBM Boxline manufacturer ZZZ INC located in Woodbury. Any data submitted under this child supplier name is for data obtained by ZZZ INC on Test Companies products
