IBM Safer rack handling guidelines for Business Partners and carriers

Considerable effort and attention has been invested lately with regard to the proper handling of our most valuable products in an effort to eliminate catastrophic in-transit damage incidents. The following documents have been created especially for direct access by IBM and our valued Business Partners as well as our contracted freight forwarders and carriers that are involved in the planning, shipping, handling, and final delivery of these critical products. For convenience and improved global understanding, the respective handling guides have been translated into several languages as listed below.
| Module 1 for IBM and Business Partners |
Audience includes IBM and Business Partners involved in manufacturing, configuration, and other preparation for shipment of large information technology (IT) rack-style products.
| Module 2 for all freight forwarders and carriers |
Audience includes all freight forwarders and carriers directly involved in the shipping, handling, and final customer delivery of large IT rack-style products.
As always, constructive feedback for improvement of these materials, including any other improved safe handling practices, is welcomed and may be sent to the author, Bob Sanders, at btsander@us.ibm.com.
