IBM Power and Cooling Technology Symposium

October 20 - 21, 2009, IBM Rochester, 3605 Highway 52 North, Rochester, MN 55901

IBM announces the twelfth annual Power and Cooling Technology Symposium to be held on October 20 and 21, 2009 (1 1/2 days), at the IBM Rochester site, in the Minnesota room (Building 025-2, G201), in Rochester, Minnesota. The theme for this year’s symposium is “Server Power and Cooling Technology for a Smarter Planet." The purpose of the Symposium is to have in-depth technical presentations and discussions based on topics related to efficient, high current power conversion, cooling, interconnect, and packaging. Topics of interest include power density improvements in AC/DC and DC/DC converters, server power efficiency improvements, efficient server power architectures, server reliability and availability requirements and impacts, server power management, cooling technology advances, high current and low inductance interconnect, packaging, reliability, lead free solder process for power assemblies, and anti-smoke design considerations. Contact Rick Fishbune at (507) 253-4425 or e-mail at platform@us.ibm.com for information on how to submit papers for this Symposium.

This year, the keynote address will be presented by Sophie Bechu, IBM Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Procurement Vice President, Worldwide ISC Engineering. IBM Power and Cooling Procurement Engineering is encouraging industry to participate with IBM in the Symposium.
