IBM Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)message sets information

Preface

This documentation shows the real subsets of the "United Nations directories for electronic data interchange for administration, commerce and transport" (UN/EDIFACT) compliant messages used by IBM. The use of the messages, including the appropriate codes, are in line with the recommendations of the United Nations. Any extensions outside the EDIFACT guidelines should be avoided and will be discarded by IBM if not separately agreed (linked content resides outside of ibm.com).

IBM EMEA is the area definition of all IBM locations in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

The content of this Web page shows the IBM EMEA requirements of the EDIFACT message sets and includes specific notes and comments on the use of each segment, data element, and codes.

EDI partners to IBM EMEA, who follow this subset of the EDIFACT guidelines in their EDI order receiving, will be able to use the message sets to any IBM EMEA location as well as to any other EDI partner within the above organizations.
