The A-Source application is a Lotus Domino e-business application that allows buyers to submit requests for quote (RFQs) and requests for price updates to contract manufacturers and suppliers and have them respond over the Internet. The application analyzes the inputs to identify cost savings opportunities.
The bills of material detail are also sent to the demand forecasting application allowing IBM to increase our volume purchasing leverage.
