IBM Outpaces Overall Industry Growth Rate for Total Disk Storage Systems Factory Revenue in First Quarter 2004, Says Analyst

Leading Market Research Firm Reports IBM Gains Share Year-to-Year in Total Disk Storage System Revenue

ARMONK, NY - 04 Jun 2004: IBM continued its momentum in disk storage by considerably outpacing the overall factory revenue growth rate for total disk storage systems during the first quarter of 2004, according to data released today by IDC [1]. The data also showed that IBM grew both share and revenue year-to-year in total disk storage systems.

IBM continues to lead the industry with innovative disk solutions and has released a significant number of disk solutions including the IBM TotalStorage FAStT100 Storage Server, the IBM TotalStorage Data Retention 450 Solution (which integrates storage, server and software retention components into a single, securable cabinet), the IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Server Model 750 and the new IBM TotalStorage Global Mirror for ESS business continuity solution.
