ARMONK, N.Y. - 30 Jan 2004: Kubota Tractor Corporation renewed its comprehensive IT services contract with IBM, giving the company key new responsibilities in developing and managing Kubota's e-business operations, the firms announced today.

One of IBM's oldest outsourcing customers, Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC) entered into a new 10-year agreement that extends and significantly enhances the scope of the original outsourcing agreement signed in 1993.

"In the past decade KTC's business has experienced substantial growth - and we rely on IBM's ongoing operations, IT infrastructure and consulting skills to provide the foundation that supports and enables our growth strategies," said Mr. Masato Yoshikawa, vice president, KTC. "By treating our business as its own, IBM has given KTC the freedom to focus on our core competencies - the sale and distribution of our products."

Under the new contract, IBM will implement AT&T's new enhanced virtual private network (EVPN), improving KTC's ability to communicate with its business partners and customers. To support KTC's increasing presence and reliance on the Internet, IBM will host the company's various Websites, including www.kubotacreditusa.com, a new Website that IBM developed to support KTC customers that finance their purchases through KTC's credit corporation. Additionally, IBM will continue to support and develop new functionality for Kubotalink, KTC's business partner portal.

IBM will manage KTC's data center, midrange servers, desktop PCs, help desk, and voice network. IBM will also continue to work closely with KTC to leverage additional business functionality from SAP, KTC's ERP system.

"Repeat customers are one of the keenest measures of outsourcing success," said Richard Patterson, vice president, automotive, aerospace & defense, IBM Global Services. "Kubota Tractor deserves substantial credit for working to create a strong relationship based on trust and a clear understanding of how technology drives business results."
