IBM And Auna Sign a Multi-Million Euro Outsourcing Contract

IBM to integrate and manage Auna's overall IT infrastructure into an on-demand model

Madrid - 19 Dec 2003: Auna Group, a leading telecommunications service provider in Spain, today announced it has signed an outsourcing agreement with IBM for the management of its IT infrastructure. This is a 10 year contract for over 400 million euros through which IBM will integrate and manage Auna's IT infrastructure.

The deal includes the integration and management by IBM of four areas of the Auna Group: network station management, business infrastructure management , business recovery services, and the end user support centre.

This deal has been signed by Amparo Moraleda, General Manager IBM Spain and Portugal and Joan-David Grimà Terré, CEO and Vice President of Auna Group.

According to Sam Khanna, General Manager, Communications Sector EMEA IBM Global Services, "More and more companies in Europe are outsourcing IT as a way to improve efficiencies and use IT as an enabler to transform their business. Our on demand offerings help clients not only achieve the above objectives but also provide flexibility by changing fixed to variable costs. We are delighted to be a part of Auna's transformation."
