IBM Brings PeopleSoft Accelerated Solutions To Medium-Sized Businesses

IBM Will Deliver Competitively Priced Database And Hardware With Solutions

WHITE PLAINS, NY - 26 Aug 2002: IBM announced today it will implement e-business solutions designed for medium-sized businesses that combine modular offerings from PeopleSoft's Accelerated Solutions portfolio and IBM middleware and server products, providing customers with an affordable turnkey system that can be quickly installed and grow with their business.

The first offering, focused on customer relationship management (CRM), will feature a key subset of PeopleSoft's Accelerated CRM software coupled with IBM's accelerated implementation services delivered via IBM Global Services and its network of Business Partners. The fixed scope and fixed price implementation means medium-sized customers can achieve a faster return on investment.

The solution can also be complemented with an optimized infrastructure consisting of either an IBM eServer xSeries or pSeries and DB2 database software. Financing from IBM Global Finance is also available. This competitively priced solution is targeted at medium-sized customers in the financial services, discrete manufacturing and wholesale distribution industries.

This offering is the latest example of IBM's focus on delivering proven e-business solutions to the medium business market as they look to gain competitive advantage via technology.

"As SMB customers look to expand their e-business capabilities these solutions from IBM and PeopleSoft will be vital in delivering proven results," said Hoon Meng Ong, vice president of marketing for Global Small and Medium Business, IBM. "Teaming with partners like PeopleSoft is at the heart of our efforts to meet the technology needs of mid-market customers."

Later this year, IBM plans to market other solutions from the PeopleSoft Accelerated Solutions portfolio of offerings. The designated Accelerated Solution products are integrated, modular solutions allowing customers to purchase only what they need - when they need it - resulting in the fastest return on their investment.

" This IBM/PeopleSoft initiative is designed to provide software, implementation expertise and cost-effective infrastructure to PeopleSoft customers," said Jeffrey Read, vice president and general management PeopleSoft mid-market. "Together, PeopleSoft and IBM are providing mid-market companies a complete, industry-leading solution at an affordable price."

This offering is available immediately in the United States with details on availability in other geographies to be announced this fall.
