IBM Fellow John Cohn Explains How Technology Saves Water in New Video


Armonk, NY - 02 Feb 2010: In the third installment of IBM’s (NYSE: IBM)  "Mad Science" video series, IBM Fellow John Cohn and host Tim Washer dive into smarter water management and take a midwinter swim in Lake Champlain.

In a recent blog post, IBM Vice President of Big Green Innovations Sharon Nunes highlighted some of IBM’s smarter water technologies and solutions in response to the looming water crisis fueled by population growth and massive urbanization. Working together with partners, IBM is gathering and analyzing information from vast sensor networks in our planet’s rivers, oceans and waterways and making that information available in real-time so that smarter decisions can be made about how we manage this critical resource.
