ARMONK, N.Y. - 18 Dec 2009: IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced the addition of a System z “Solution Edition” for Chordiant applications to help clients leverage the mainframe data that currently resides at major companies, such as financial institutions and telecommunications companies. The new offering allows clients to improve revenue through enhanced products and services for customers, to mitigate risk and to increase customer retention.
The new Chordiant Solution Edition now makes ten System z Solution Editions available for clients to bring more workloads to the System z mainframe. To date, IBM solution editions include integrated hardware, software and services packages that are attractively priced for enterprise Linux, data warehousing, application development, disaster recovery, security, electronic payments, SAP applications, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and cloud computing.
Aimed at existing mainframe clients, the Chordiant Solution Edition allows System z users to bring more capabilities to the platform by managing and optimizing the utilization of customer data on the mainframe. By allowing the collocation of the Chordiant applications with System z data, clients can now inherit the mainframe’s powerful performance, security, availability and resiliency for customer experience management applications. Chordiant’s customer conversation optimization features can help clients recognize hidden buying patterns or specific transactions, making that data immediately actionable and driving additional revenue opportunities. For example, the Chordiant Decision Management solution suite consists of Next-Best-Action™ capabilities to improve customer retention by guiding conversations across every channel, determining and adapting actions as the interaction occurs. The Chordiant Foundation Server solution suite which drives multi-channel consistency and collaboration are now available on System z for integrating disparate customer applications, databases and procedures.

For the data center, consolidation of applications on System z means lower power usage, less floor space requirements, lower software licensing fees and fewer IT administrators needed to support new application deployments.”
The two Chordiant application solutions now available on System z include: Chordiant Decision Management and Chordiant Foundation Server, running on z/OS and using WebSphere® ApplicationServer for z/OS and DB2® for z/OS.
