SAO PAULO, Brazil - 22 Jun 2009: IBM (NYSE: IBM) in Brazil has entered into an agreement with Cobra Automotive Technologies, a leading Italian company in the field of security solutions for the automotive industry. IBM will assist Cobra in the development of a technology environment that enables Cobra to offer its services in Brazil.
With the project, conceived under the software as a service (SaaS) model, IBM will be responsible for providing and managing servers, operating systems, security environment, storage and backup for operations in Brazil.
The services will be provided from the IBM Technology Center located in Hortolandia, near Sao Paulo. Through the project, Cobra will gain a dynamic technology infrastructure, which will accompany the growth of its business in Brazil without the need for initial investments and with minimal risks.
The agreement was signed in the second quarter of 2009.
