TRANSALLIANCE Signs Four Million Euro Outsourcing Contract With IBM

IBM Will Provide Server Hosting and Manage the IT Infrastructure of TRANSALLIANCE for the Next Five Years

PARIS - 14 Apr 2008: TRANSALLIANCE, a major European operator for transport and logistics markets based in Nancy, France, today announces an agreement with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to host its servers, manage its information technology (IT) security and its databases. The four million euro contract will run for the next five years.

With plans to expand its presence in Europe and to develop its logistics business, TRANSALLIANCE asked IBM to help respond to challenges regarding the continuity of services and the optimization of IT costs. One of the objectives was also to improve the flexibility of the information system in order to integrate new entities.

As part of the agreement, IBM will provide IT governance for TRANSALLIANCE's companies as well as the management and administration of its entire IT infrastructure on two secured remote sites. The availability of a responsive IT system with on-demand storage capacity was a key factor in TRANSALLIANCE's decision.

"One of our primary requirements was to be supported by an outside company that would bring us high-value services and allow us to focus on our growth and above all on our customers. That's why it was very important for us to know that we could benefit from secured and flexible IT services and could rely on IBM's expertise," said Alexandre Michel, CEO of TRANSALLIANCE. "Ultimately, we were convinced by IBM's solid experience in the transport and logistics sectors in France and abroad."

"IBM's expertise in bringing business value related to outsourcing is a key point in our development strategy focused on regional companies with an international dimension," said Frédéric de Cointet, Regions Director, IBM Global Technology Services France and NWA. "IBM's goal is to help TRANSALLIANCE get the best quality services in order to cope with its future growth."

This agreement was signed in the first quarter of 2008.
