IBM Completes Acquisition of Princeton Softech

ARMONK, NY - 13 Sep 2007: IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced it has completed its acquisition of Princeton Softech Inc., a privately held company based in Princeton, New Jersey.

IBM announced an agreement to acquire Princeton Softech on August 3, 2007. Princeton Softech's operations will be integrated into IBM's Information Management software business.

The acquisition of Princeton Softech furthers IBM's global Information on Demand initiative, which is aimed at the growing market opportunity around helping clients use information as a competitive and strategic business asset. Princeton Softech is a leading provider of data archiving, test data management, data privacy and data classification and discovery software. These offerings enable customers to overcome information management challenges and improve database performance by segregating historical data from current data and storing it securely and cost-effectively.

With today's announcement, IBM has completed 22 strategic acquisitions in support of its cross-company Information on Demand effort.

The combination of IBM and Princeton Softech is expected to help customers reduce operational costs while avoiding performance degradation and effectively managing their compliance requirements.

The addition of Princeton Softech's Optim solutions also will help IBM further extend its industry leading capabilities in governance and risk management. In particular, Princeton Softech will boost IBM's ability to offer clients integrated data classification, archiving, and test data management and data privacy solutions across heterogeneous application and database environments.
