Kayaba Industry Co., Ltd. to Outsource IT Operations to IBM Japan

TOKYO - 12 May 2003: Kayaba Industries Co., Ltd. has agreed to outsource its information technology related operations, including development, maintenance, operation and management to IBM Japan. The contract, which begins this month, is for 10 years.

Through the outsourcing of IT operations, Kayaba Industry will be able to reduce its expenses and focus on IT planning for management support and specialization and skills improvement of its IT staff. The company also will establish an IT planning division within its organization for the purpose of planning and managing outsourced IT operations and assisting in system management.

"Kayaba Industry has chosen IBM Japan as its IT services partner because of its technology leadership and processes to maximize capital efficiency and help reduce running costs," said Yasumasa Shimizu, managing director, Kayaba Industry Co. Ltd. "This will enable Kayaba Industry to further concentrate on our core business and meet our business objectives."
