IBM Expands Its Computer Telephony Business Solution with New Add-On Applications

IBM Offers Version 2.55 upgrades at No Additional Charge for Current End Users and Launches a Computer Telephony ISV Program

Washington, DC - 25 May 1999: -- IBM* announced today that it has expanded the functionality of its Computer Telephony Business Solution* by testing and certifying several new Add-on applications. In addition, IBM introduced Version 2.55 of its Computer Telephony Business Software providing improved administration and advanced manageability features. IBM also launched a Computer Telephony program for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).

New Add-on Applications
As the first vendor to offer seamless integration of customized business applications for telephony solutions, IBM strengthens its Computer Telephony Business Solution by testing and certifying new Add-on applications including:

Upgrades to Version 2.55
IBM announced Version 2.55 of its Computer Telephony Business software offering improved administration and advanced manageability features. New administration and manageability features include:
- improved multi-company auto attendant support;
- new support for holiday greetings;
- call rebounding capability;
- new manageability features for logging, diagnostic tools, and automatic disk space recovery.

Businesses currently using the IBM Computer Telephony Business Solution Version 2.51 can receive upgrades to Version 2.55 at no additional cost from their IBM Authorized Computer Telephony Reseller. IBM Computer Telephony Business Solution Version 2.55 will be available in North Americain the third quarter of this year.

New Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Program
IBM also announced today an Independent Software Vendor Program for computer telephony developers interested in writing additional Add-on applications. To support the launch of this program, IBM offers a low-cost telephony application development platform. An ISV can obtain a free Software Development Kit by contacting IBM at 919-381-1132 ext. 216 or sending an e-mail to IBMCTBS@US.IBM.COM. As part of the Independent Software Vendor Program, IBM has established resources for ISVs to test and certify new Add-on applications, allowing for a quick time-to-market cycle.
