IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that Gartner has positioned IBM in the Leaders Quadrant in its November 22, 2006 report, "Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools, 2006*." According to Gartner, "Leaders" are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction, and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.
The IBM Information Integration portfolio provides one of the industry's broadest and advanced software platforms to help organizations leverage their investment in information technology. As a proofpoint of the company's vision for data integration, IBM recently introduced the IBM Information Server, a first-of-a-kind software platform that enables clients to deliver trusted, consistent and reusable information to applications and business processes.
Announced in October during the IBM Information on Demand Global Conference and currently available worldwide, the IBM Information Server is already in use by more than 75 IBM clients and partners including leading companies such as Harley Davidson, Commerce Bank, Grundfos Group, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Tennessee, and LVMH France Argentine Cosmetics, S.A., a subsidiary of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
"IBM is helping clients handle their most difficult integration and information management tasks," said Pete Fiore, vice president, IBM Information Integration Solutions. "Our unique vision for information integration is giving clients access to knowledge once locked away in a data center, providing them the confidence they need to make strategic, innovative business decisions. IBM Information Server improves information consistency and reuse while it serves as a centralized platform to integrate and reconcile information from different applications and sources."
IBM Information Integration Solutions include high-performance, end-to-end data integration with data movement, transformation, data profiling, data quality, and meta data management and parallel processing technologies.
