PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC - 26 Sep 2006: IBM (NYSE: IBM) has been chosen to provide a new IT system for Letiste Praha a.s. (Prague Airport), one of the major airports in Central and Eastern Eastern Europe. The new IT system will enable the airport to improve service for its customers and lower costs.

As part of the three-and-a-half year agreement, IBM will implement the solution over the next 16 months, and then maintain and manage the system.

The airport is in need of improved management systems to support its dynamic growth and rapidly increasing passenger numbers. Over the past few years, the airport has expanded dramatically and expects the number of passengers to double during the next twelve years to over 20 million a year.

The expansion of the airport's capacity and improvements in facilities have put greater demands on airport management and staff in terms of scheduling and use of available resources. As the existing information system does not meet the future needs of the airport, a new integrated information system was needed to improve process security, increase efficiencies and lower costs. Based on mySAP Business Suite product, the new integrated information system will be used by 350 airport staff. The airport's 1,950 employees will have access to an employee portal.

"We selected IBM because their solution reflects the needs of Prague Airport -- an IT system providing quality management of corporate processes for an international airport of our size," said the general manager of Prague Airport, Hana Cernochov√°. "Now we have an implementation provider with in-depth experience from similar projects at other major international airports around the globe."

The new integrated information system will be implemented in five phases. The first phase includes systems for finance, logistics and human resources management. Future steps will include customer relations management, an employee portal, maintenance and property management.
