ARMONK, NY - 01 Mar 2006: IBM was named the 2006 CRN Channel Champion of Champions, in a repeat performance that honors the company two years in a row for its support of the channel and industry leadership. IBM was also recognized as 2006 CRN Channel Champion, or top vendor, in the categories of Application Integration Middleware, Advanced Workstations, Storage Management Software, Network Storage Hardware and Midrange Server at an awards ceremony in Atlanta, GA, on February 28. The CRN Channel Champion's award program, now in its 16th year, is sponsored by CMP Media's CRN, vital information for VARs and technology integrators.
The CRN Channel Champions study measures overall business and technology integrator perceptions of vendor products and services. The survey is the largest and broadest-based technology integrator market study in the industry. The result is a premier resource used by business and technology integrators throughout the industry to evaluate vendors and their programs.
The survey rated vendors in 26 key product and service categories. "The CRN Channel Champions study is a premier resource for solution providers to use throughout the year to evaluate vendors and programs," said Dan Dignam, vice president/publisher, CRN. "Congratulations to all of the winning companies. They have demonstrated that they deliver high-quality solutions and have many satisfied business partners."
"IBM's unwavering focus -- from one end of our organization to the other -- is on delivering open, on demand solutions and services that are channel-ready, as well as offering partner programs that truly stimulate an ecosystem of growth, collaboration and innovation," said Donn Atkins, general manager of IBM Global Business Partners. "We are dedicated to being the IT industry's partner of choice and we are honored that the Business Partner community selected IBM as the company they most want to partner with."
The 2006 CRN Channel Champions Awards brings IBM's total of awards in recognition of its Business Partner programs and initiatives to 44 since 2003, the most of any technology vendor in the period and more than Microsoft, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, EMC, Computer Associates and BEA Systems combined.
