New IBM e-Commerce Software Will Lead Companies into the Next Generation of e-Business

WebSphere Commerce Suite Offers First Integrated Solution For Personalized Relationship Marketing, Order Management, Auctions, and Business-to-Business Commerce

Expanding Relationships and Programs
IBM also announced relationships with several business partners that are providing additional functionality to enhance the relationship marketing and content management capabilities of the offerings. Brightinfo.com, CommercialWare, CyberSource, GTEi, Interwoven, J.D. Edwards, NetPerceptions, net.Genesis, Siebel, Synquest, Versifi, and Vignette are a few of these companies. Additionally, customers such as LLBean, Macy's, Sciquest and Staples are among some of the companies implementing the software to increase their customer loyalty and revenues.

To help partners take advantage of the growing transformation and integration technology market, IBM is continuing its support of the successful E-commerce Start Now Program with the release of version 4.1. For small and medium sized businesses that want to quickly establish a secure, robust, commerce-enabled Web site, the industry standards-based Start Now e-commerce solution offers software, hardware, and partner services.

Product Availability/Pricing
WebSphere Commerce Suite Pro Edition (formerly Net.Commerce Pro) will be available on February 28, 2000 on NT, AIX, and Solaris. It has a list price of $38,000. It will be available for the AS/400 and S/390 platforms later in the year. The Start Edition (formerly Net.Commerce Start) will be available on February 1, 2000 on NT. It has a list price of $9,000. WebSphere Commerce Suite will be shipped with DB2 Universal Database, Net.Data 6.1, Text Extender 6.1, WebSphere Application Server Advanced Edition 3.0, WebSphere Studio 3.02, HTTP Server 1.3.6, LDAP 3.1, and WebSphere Payment Manager 2.1.

WebSphere Commerce Suite version 4.1 and WebSphere Commerce Studio software combined with WebSphere Application Server, Advanced Edition provide a core set of technologies upon which future applications services will be built.
