Somers, N.Y - 07 Nov 2000: ... IBM and Lotus today brought added value and simplicity to Business Partners by delivering new functionality in PartnerWorld for Software*, part of IBM PartnerWorld*, the world's most comprehensive program for e-business marketing, enablement, and support.
New Business Partners will now find "one-stop shopping" convenience when they join PartnerWorld for Software (www.ibm.com/partnerworld/software). The single on-line Business Partner resource will allow new IBM and Lotus partners to more easily build their business relationship. Meanwhile, current Business Partners will find all program information on a single Website. These Business Partners will migrate to PartnerWorld for Software on a timetable determined by their geographic region.
Tivoli is continuing its phased integration with availability of Tivoli-specific and selected key PartnerWorld benefits for Tivoli Business Partners, as well as expanded content available through PartnerWorld for Software. For example, Tivoli Business Partners now have access to PartnerLine support and "You Pass, We Pay" education reimbursement.
A key new benefit of PartnerWorld for Software enables Business Partner members to improve their productivity by receiving only the benefits and sales information that are applicable to their business or level of membership, such as Premier or Advanced.
"PartnerWorld for Software brings new value and simplicity to Business Partners doing business with IBM and Lotus," said James Neiser, vice president, Worldwide Distribution Channels, IBM Software. "It is a powerful engine for e-business growth that will reward Business Partners for teaming with us to deliver the next generation of e-business solutions."
Offering new value to Business Partners, PartnerWorld for Software now includes:
"More and more Lotus Business Partners are asking for a simplified way to access what they need from both Lotus and IBM via a single source, and the PartnerWorld for Software portal is the answer," said Pierre Van Beneden, executive vice president, Worldwide Field Operations, Lotus. "It will give them a simplified e-business model, plus support for an expanded portfolio of IBM technologies."
Today's announcement complements the first phase of PartnerWorld for Software announced in June 2000. It featured the Solution Sales Resource, a Web-based repository of sales tools, presentations, and customer collateral to help Business Partners through each step of the solution selling process. It also included the Business Partner Directory, a Web-based directory where customers can locate qualified IBM and Lotus Business Partners who have the skills they need to implement e-business solutions.
Business Partners who want to preserve the brand identity they have built with customers can continue to qualify to carry IBM, Lotus or Tivoli logos. In addition to the standard benefits available through PartnerWorld for Software, additional benefits are tailored to Business Partners who invest more deeply in a specific technology.
"These latest enhancements to PartnerWorld for Software further reinforce IBM's commitment to its Business Partners," said Stacy McRee, General Manager, New Horizons - Dallas, a Lotus Business Partner. "As a Business Partner in today's fast-moving environment, our company's biggest enemy is time. Being able to find all the Lotus and IBM information we need at a single Web site will increase our productivity significantly."
