AUGUSTA, GA - 29 Mar 2001: Golf fans may sense they can smell the freshly mowed grass as they join the gallery on the first tee via live streaming video on http://www.masters.org, the official Web site of the 2001 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. The Tournament will be contested April 2-8. For the sixth consecutive year, IBM will assist the Masters Tournament in producing and hosting masters.org.

Visitors to masters.org can witness real-time the traditional Honorary Starters ceremony featuring Byron Nelson and Sam Snead at approximately 8:15 a.m. (EDT), Thursday, April 5. On Sunday evening, April 8, fans can enjoy the live presentation of the winner's green jacket at the Masters Putting Green ceremony, then conclude their streaming video experience with the champion's interview in the Press Building.

In addition to the Masters leader board, which contains information ranging from real-time results and current leaders to eagle summaries and best rounds, the 2001 official Web site will showcase several new features, including:

Masters fans worldwide can get a head-start on Tournament coverage by accessing recent news and history about the Tournament through an archive of articles, photos, player interviews and results from every previous Masters. Fans also can take a virtual walking tour of the course, check out Augusta National landmarks and read exclusive comments from former Masters champion Raymond Floyd as he provides personal insights about each hole at Augusta National.
